Update 5
Work after presenting to the mentors

I worked on one of the latest renders of shot 1 yesterday night and this are some of the results I got, I merged it with the final advertisment so you can see it in context, as I mention before shot one has been our achilles tendon.

Update 4
Shot 4

Shot 3 has advance a lot over the weeks, all of the elements have grow, as we grow as a team. This week for this shot I focused on embracing more of the colors and elements to make the ring pop, one of the things I added to make it realistic is a filter of Bokeh, to make everything look more photorealistic.

I worked on recovering all of the diamond beauty without loosing that sparklin characteristic that they have, to do that I used AOVs and cryptomattes that are connected to Color Correct nodes that allowed me to change all of the elements, and enhance that beautifulness of the ring, with the diamonds and the gold.

Another thing I have been working on the past couple of weeks is enhancing the colorimetry that matches between shot 2 and 3. So for that I color corrected the sand made by Yilin and the Matte Painting that Zane made for this shot. To make everything more cohesive I used a lightwrap node so all of the elements are better and more cohesively merged together into this composition. I also had to separate the matte painting elements the mountains from the sky, that is why in the nuke script you can see a Roto.

Working on it has been a great challenge to work on Color management and Color correction, which is one of my favorite things about compositing. But this week I also decided to check how it will look as a slap comp and what am I bringing to the project. So I am going to leave you with a before and after.

Update 3
Our achilles tendon shot 1

Our achilles tendon has been shot one we have been stuggluing on getting that shot settle as we have done with all of the pther shots, this week I got a render that did not have any reflections and it was rendered with the wrong camera. I worked with all of the elements as best as I could and I tried to make it look as it was supposed to, but it was a challenge because the gold shadder went black without the reflections, so matching it made it a new challenge for me. I have also been working on getting the AOVs set up because this is the first week we can have them ready, however the SSS was not owrking properly and the shadder was not looking right.

Update 2
Team work session

Last week as a team we had a proble with the AVOS for the Jade shadder for shot 1, so along with Mia we sat down and worked around with all of the changes so that the Jade shader could be ready for this week render. Also during this work sessions we worked on the camera movements that the mentors suggested for the ad, to make it more conhesive and interesting for the viewer. As we work together, I have learned the importance of listening and working side by side with my team so we can complement each other. Since I am on the end of the line my work is to show what others have done, and try to fullfil their spectations while making the advertisment cohesive.

Update 1
Meeting with Harbor

As a team we made a lot of progress during last week, and our advertisment is looking better and better. But the mentors always help us with feedback to make it as professional as time allows us. Here is the feedback we got this week:

General comments:

  • Remove, easy in, in the camera

  • Great progress

Shot 1-2:

  • Blacklevel on the dragon feels to CG - Consider rotating HDRI

  • Pop between FX - dragon

  • Work on making all elements for Macro with the Depth of Field.

Shot 2-2:

  • Pop between FX ring

  • Ring feels to far left

  • Consider pulling out from the particles between shot 1 and shot 2

  • Maybe the camera make it closer to the ring

  • Camera move more dinamic

Shot 3-1

  • Sky feels washed out

  • Maybe feel more the bokeh
